Endstation's Sonnets and Chocolates

It was a beautiful Friday evening, as patrons entered the Grand Ballroom at the Swan Group in downtown Lynchburg. The venue had been transformed into a elegant and delightful stage for the evening's events to come. The performers had been prepped, the wine was chilling, the desserts were laid out in their splendor, and we were excited to kick off a fun, and entertaining fundraiser.
Geoff Kershner (Artistic Director) was excited about the idea of Sonnets and Chocolates and we had been planning the event for a few months, we were fortunate to have a dedicated team of people working on different aspects of the planning to bring the event together. We appreciated the donations of various individuals and businesses who gave to our dessert spread, drink menu, and silent auction items.

We had all sorts of fun things planned, including a place where patrons could take "prom photos", goodies being sold by our very own Romeo and Juliet, friendly bar tenders, and good times all around.

Of course the night would not have been complete without our fantastic performers. We had actors, musicians, individuals, pairs, and groups. It is always wonderful to be reminded of the amazing talent we have right here in our surrounding area. We are so appreciative of all of the local performing community, and were happy to welcome our fellow performers from out of town and out of state as well. The evening would not have been the same without all the talent we had on our stage. The following displays just a few of the fabulous acts we had for the evening.

We had a great time and were so excited with the number of people who could join us for the evening. All of the proceeds of the event are going to support the 2009 Blue Ridge Summer Theatre Festival which will be taking place this coming June and July on the beautiful campus of Sweet Briar College. Every person who donated a dessert, bid on a silent auction item, performed, or just came and sat back to enjoy the evening- all of you are helping to support our efforts and we thank you for that.

If you were not able to join us for this event, we would love to see you this summer, and hope to see you next year at the 2010 Sonnets and Chocolate's event. Cheers!
